Directors - Jeffreys Bay

Bunty Vlok

qualified as a CA (SA) in 1975 and has been a director of the firm for 30 years. He began the practice in Humansdorp/Jefferys Bay in 1978 where it grew and prospered in local tourism, property developments, fishing and agricultural sectors.

Louw Slabbert

qualified as a CA (SA) in 1977 after obtaining his CTA from the University of Port Elizabeth. He became a partner in a predecessor firm in 1978 and specializes in small businesses, estate planning and winding-up of estates.

Thomas van der Mescht

Qualified as a CA (SA) in 1975 after studying at the University of Port Elizabeth and became a partner of the firm in 1981 having 39 years experience in local authorities, small businesses and the mohair industry. He was a member of the SAICA Regional Committee as well as the National Small Practices Committee.

George Melville

qualified as a CA (SA) during 1989 after studying at the University of Port Elizabeth. He completed his articles with the firm in 1991 and rejoined during 1994 after having spent two years with the South African Revenue Services on a contractual basis specializing in the implementation of VAT.

George Friend

qualified as a CA (SA) in 2000 from the University of South Africa. He joined the firm in 1994 and has been a director of the practice since 2000 having 9 years experience as a practicing accountant with exposure in general accounting and auditing in all segments and industries. He has served on the SAICA Regional Committee and the Practice Review Committee of the Public Accountants & Auditors Board.

Jo Viviers

qualified as a CA (SA) during 2001 after having obtained a BCom (Acc) from the University of Port Elizabeth and Hons B Comp at UNISA. He joined the firm in 1995 as a senior audit manager, becoming a director in September 2001. Jo is the Training Officer within the firm and monitors the progress of the trainee accountants of the firm.

Salomien de Klerk

Salomien de Klerk, B.Compt (Hons), CA (SA), has been appointed a director of Moore Stephens WK Inc on 1 March 2010.
 
Salomien qualified as Chartered Accountant in 1997 upon completing of her studies through Unisa. Thereafter she practiced in Tzaneen prior to her joining our firm as manager of our Jeffreys Bay office.

Phillip Kemp

Phillip Kemp studied at the University of South Africa. He joined the firm in 2005 and qualified as a CA (SA) in 2008. He has been a senior audit manager since 2009. As from 1 September 2011, Phillip became a director of the firm. Phillip’s portfolio as Director will include that of Training Officer within the firm as well as a Member of the MSSA Tax Committee.

Jason Verwey

Jason Verwey studied at the University of Port Elizabeth. He joined the firm in 2003 and qualified as a CA (SA) in 2006. He has been a senior audit manager since 2006. As from 1 September 2011, Jason became a director of the firm. Jason’s portfolio as Director will include that of Staff Director within the firm as well as a Member of the MSSA Technical Committee.
